Cocktails For Cancer Season

Wondering what to make your dearest water friend for their birthday? How about one of these three cocktails the Cancer star child in your life is sure to love!

LAWN DART

Bask in the celebration of summer with this refreshing sipper.

Muddle 1x. 5-in slice of Green Bell Pepper

Add: 1 oz Blanco Tequila

1 oz London Dry Gin

3/4 oz fresh lime juice

3/4 oz agave syrup

1/4 oz Green Chartreuse

Shake with ice and double strain to ice-filled Collins glass

Garnish with lime wheel.


NIGHT BIRD

Cancer signs are ruled by the moon, this cocktail is an ode to the fellow night birds.

In a mixing glass muddle 3x cucumber slices.

Add:

1 1/2 oz rye whiskey

1/2 oz Averna

3/4 oz sweet vermouth

2 dashes of sage tincture *

Stir with ice and double strain to coupe glass. Garnish with a sage leaf.

*Sage Tincture: Finely shred 12 sage leaves and add to high-proof spirit. Set for 18 - 24 hours. Add one cup of water and strain.


NO BAD DAYS

This large-format punch-style cocktail is perfect for a birthday celebration or gathering.

In an extra-large punch bowl over a large block of ice add:

1x 750 ml bottle of dry sparkling wine

1x 750 ml bottle of Thai-basil blanc vermouth (chilled)**

1x 750 ml bottle manzanilla sherry (chilled)

1x 750 ml bottle of fresh watermelon juice

Stir all together & serve with lemon wheel garnish


** Thai basil Blanc Vermouth: In a large container, LIGHTLY muddle 100 grams of fresh Thai basil leaves (stems removed) Add vermouth. Let sit for 30 minutes. Strain, bottle, and chill. Store up to 2 weeks in the fridge.
