3 Cocktails For Gemini Season

LEMON MERINGUE PIE

Something sweet that doubles up on the vodka, this cocktail is the answer to “When life gives you lemons…”

From The Waldorf Astoria Bar Book By: Frank Caiafa

Dry shake for 5 seconds:

1 oz lemon vodka

1 oz vanilla vodka

3/4 oz limoncello

1/4 oz fresh lemon juice

1/2 oz simple syrup

1/2 oz heavy cream

1/2 egg white (or 1 tsp aquafaba for dairy-free)

Add ice and shake well for 10 seconds.

Double strain to a chilled cocktail or coupe glass.

Garnish: lemon zest & crushed graham cracker


CLASSIC CHAMPAGNE COCKTAIL

You can’t go wrong with a classic champagne cocktail - a favorite of arguably the most famous gemini of all - Marilyn Monroe.

Here’s how to make it:

Add 1 sugar cube to a champagne flute. Add 3 -5 dashes of Angostura bitters over the cube. Top with Champagne and a lemon twist.

Try this cocktail to kickstart the summer - a perfect pairing for any Air sign ….

In shaker add:

1 1/2 oz London Dry Gin

3/4 oz fresh Lemon Juice

1/2 oz Strawberry Syrup **

1/2 oz génépy

10 drops Bittermen’s Orange Cream Citrate

Shake well with ice. Strain to chilled glass and garnish with a strawberry.


** Combine 2 cups of quartered strawberries, 1 cup of water, and 1 cup of sugar in a saucepan over medium-high heat; stir to dissolve. Cook the mixture on a low boil for approximately 10 minutes, then reduce the heat and let simmer for an additional 15 minutes. Remove the syrup from heat and allow to cool, then strain well (using multiple layers of cheesecloth) into an airtight container and store refrigerated for up to 1 week
